Late last year, Doctor Who's Executive Producer and lead writer, Steven Moffat, told us, 'The Doctor has visited every weird and wonderful planet you can imagine, so he was bound get round to America eventually! And of course every Doctor Who fan will be jumping up and down and saying he's been in America before. But not for real, not on location - and not with a story like this one! Oh, you wait!'But we can't wait! So all this week we're recalling some of the TARDIS's previous visits to the States and looking ahead to the stunning two-part story that kicks off the new series.
Piers Wenger, Head of Drama BBC Wales and Executive Producer, called it, 'Doctor Who's most action-packed and ambitious season opener yet' and key scenes of the adventure were filmed in Utah. The story is set in the late Sixties and River Song joins the Doctor, Amy and Rory who find themselves acting on a secret summons that leads from the desert in Utah right to the Oval Office itself...
