According to the Daily Star, producers are hoping to cast the footballer turned actor as an evil alien. Series star Matt Smith had previously suggested that Cantona should play a villain on the show.

Based on the fact that Matt smith has only had one series so far, David tennant has had 4 years at it and I have to say Matt is better than David tennant and yes I did cry and moan for a few days after the end of time part 2 but I do think Matt is great as the doctor (although i cant believe hes grown on me in just one series ) and yea I might miss David on the odd occasion but sometimes I don't because Matt's funny (a bit like David) I loved the dancing in the big bang (made me laugh) I think Matt's doctor is more a darker but brighter doctor than David was. Matt doesn't ramble like David did he spoke to fast but he was a great doctor but now I think Matt is the new David/doctor I'm sure Matt will stay for a few years to come and hopefully he will get better and better as the doctor and more who fans will like him.
So please comment who's a better doctor Matt smith or David tennant
